The family holiday in Sydney coming from Albury. The highlight was the trip to Manly on the ferry. Mother and father and three kids arrive at Circular Quay and boarded the ferry to Manly. On the ferry the kids would run from side to side through the engine fumes to see the harbour. Arriving at the promenade we would walk to beach to look at it. Then return to the promenade for fish and chips and ice-cream. The scent conjures the excitement of little kids coming to the city. They are all new smells. No other bush smells – city smells.
SCENT
Diesel is the top note, Not a worrying or offensive smell, but functional. Salt has a strong presence. The Norfolk Pine wafts through and the seagull poo and rotting fish appears when the pine smells dissipates.
