FEEDING THE SOIL OF SURVIVAL

I’ve lived in Sydney for 18 years since I was 18.
I’m on my first paid holiday and I have this moment to reflect and for the first time I feel settled and that unsettles me.
I travel from Erskineville where I’ve spent of time to Cabramatta each day. The smells of spice and produce evoke a sense of the hardiness of Vietnamese refugees. It reminds my own survival of change here.

I feel like I’ve taken all that I can from this soil that i’ve sapped my little patch. That I need to touch the soil of home in Malaysia to see what I can reintroduce.

SCENT

Nutrient deprived soil and erosion.
