TERRACE HOUSES

I arrived in Sydney in the 60s, early 60s, to Paddington, which was quite dilapidated and run down at that time. But what i remember is how people loved it – they saw the beauty in it and fought to restore it.

The signature scent was the flowering creeper over the back fences of the laneways in early summer.

Inhaling this fragrance was like breathing in optimism and makes you smile.

This was a city at the point of being saved.

SCENT

Specific flowering creeper in the eastern suburbs area around the 60s, particularly aromatic at night. Shalimar-type fragrance.
