SEA SALT AND EUCALYPTUS

History is my favourite subject at school; I like the industrial period, and the stories about old Sydney, like the time when Sydney Harbour bridge was built. At school we learnt about the early pioneers. Unfortunately we didn’t learn about indigenous history.

The smell of Sydney is usually made up of the sea salt wind coming off the harbour mixing with the food from nearby hipster cafes and old fashioned fish and chips. Warm concrete and the steamy humidity in the air, underneath the scent of eucalyptus which is oily and sweet.

SCENT

Ferry fuel, ocean breeze, roasting coffee, freshly cooked fish and chips, warm concrete, humidity, eucalyptus.
