On the weekends we like to get away to the Blue Mountains. We go trekking and rock climbing. We go for the sport and for the escape. I like the city on the weekdays. On the weekends though, it can become too extravagant. Everyone’s too rich. Well, too rich for their own good.

So that’s why it’s good to get away. Living here you get used to this idea of being alone. It’s easier to find solitude here. There’s so much space. Sometimes when we go trekking it’s stinking hot. That’s when the smell really comes out.

Dry leaves, gum nuts, sand and soil (sandstone), nettles (slightly citric smell) the leftover of last years bush fire.
