Listening to Patrick Abboud’s interview made me think about oregano and my favourite pizzeria, Manoosh. Oregano has been a feature in gardens I’ve had because it’s something that’s so easy to grow, but I don’t really cook with it. Oregano makes me think of my parents’ house in Oatley near the Georges river in southern Sydney. It’s a very relaxing place.

I remember whacking an ants’ nest with a stick near Oatley Park because… I was a little shit. I would spend a lot of time in Oatley park exploring on foot or on my bike.
