Overcoming a fear of the ocean a little bit. Sometimes I’d go out and the waves are enormous, but after getting dumped once or twice — going down into the vortex and you lose all your orientation, but you just have to get past it and catch a wave. It’s really fun!

SCENT

First you put on your wetsuit, so there is a rubber smell and then it fades, so all you can smell is the ocean. Fresh, sea salt, subtle sea weed — but not the strong algae. It’s pleasant, maybe more floral, and it finishes really light.
