THIN AND THICK AIR

I was brought up in Braidwood, where you can smell the crisp, sharp eucalypt. The air is thinner in the country. Cold air takes your breath away. As an adult I moved to a seaside suburb of Sydney, where the air is denser when it’s humid. There are lots of trees, which when flowering make the air heavy with their scent. The native trees bring the birds, it’s fabulous! There’s all this squawking and squealing.

It’s like being in India or Malaysia or somewhere.

SCENT

birds, cold, native trees, frangipani and jasmine.
