I’m a happy amateur who loves social running. I train and I race with a local club in Sydney and we train and we race in events. The joy comes from pushing yourself beyond what you think you are capable of. You feel empowered. It is the sense of overcoming life’s hurdles.

The final stages of a marathon where you’re tired, you’re emotional and your body is telling yourself to stop, you keep telling yourself: ‘I can do this.’ You push past that pain barrier in order to achieve your personal best.

The scent moves and empowers you.

Ocean breeze, ferry fuel, freshly brewed coffee, body odours, sweat, fish and chips, salt, citrus smell of sport drinks.
