As a Sydney Festival volunteer, I am always situated at different venues. For example, walking down Westfield in Parramatta or the city I see a lot of things, for example spills on the floor, and it reminds me of a reflection of the past. That reflection is … during my preschool to primary school years, lots of children finished their lunch too fast and run around in the playground, causing them to vomit. From there, the teachers put a sandy yellow-coloured sanitary powder to dry up the vomit.
The scent starts off faint and grows stronger. The vomit is the first, light smell, because there is a lot of yellow powder in it already. The vomit is wet and disgusting and is contrasted to the yellow sanitary washing powder, which is a stronger sweet scent like bleach.
