MANLY WHARF

I’m from Sydney originally but now I live in Los Angeles. My strongest scent memory is visiting Manly Beach as a child, and the wharf where the ferries arrive. If you go down onto the beach there are (were?) wooden pylons and the smell is (was?) a combination of sea air and wet wood. It’s a rare scent for me, I don’t smell it very often. But when I do it takes me back to that time.

SCENT

Sea air, old wet wood.
