ON ARRIVAL AT ANOTHER PLANET

When I first arrived in Sydney, the housing looked completely different to what I was used to. All the houses were higgilty piggilty. It was more industrial, dark, and run-down than I thought it would be.

We moved into a flat at Clovelly, we should have bought it because it was selling for only $80,000 at the time. But we thought it was a dump even though it was right beside the ocean! There were so many cockroaches.

SCENT

sea air, sweat, dank, barbeque, sunscreen, haze, heat and the feeling of your skin being burned.
