SENSORY EVALUATION

I have an agricultural background and an interest in wine. Wine is not just a way of getting drunk, drinking wine is a way of receiving information. I visit the wine areas and bring too much wine home. I’m particularly interested in dry rieslings and dry reds.

Last night I opened a French sparkling wine that smelled like yeast and freshly baked bread. I’ve noticed that a riesling will have the scent of kerosine or even wet dog. Grenache evokes cow shed aroma.
